Elena Denis

ELENA DENIS is a Masters-level psychotherapist who has been in private practice since 2000.  She completed her master's at the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work and trained at Texas Children’s Hospital, the VA Hospital, and at the Houston Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute.  Ms. Denis has additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Marital Therapy, Group Therapy, Mindfulness, Meditation, and Play Therapy.

Ms. Denis sees clients for individual therapy, ranging from age 3 to adulthood. She has extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, child/parent conflict, sibling issues, school and peer situations, social worry, and/or anxiety.  Ms. Denis helps individuals with emotional regulation, sleep difficulties, adoption, body image, adjustment to cultural differences, developmental transitions through the lifespan, life adjustment stress (divorce, marriage, new stepfamily, new school, launching to college, starting a family, moving, new job, etc.).  Ms. Denis also works with grief and loss, and trauma. Dyslexia, AD/HD and learning differences are long-time clinical interests. 

Ms. Denis belongs to the Houston Group Psychotherapy Society, the Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Society, the International Dyslexia Association, the Association for Play Therapy - United States, and the Attention Deficit Disorders Association - Southern Region.  She has served on the Board of Trustees at the Neuhaus Education Center in Houston, Texas.

Ms. Denis lives in Houston with her husband and two children.
